Description
Design. To be used as a standalone piece or to display faux foliage, the Black Rustic Vase is a timeless addition to any home. The terracotta’s unique, weathered finish would fit excellently into industrial and bohemian settings, creating a statement with its deep earthy tones.
Our Stylist Says
The black rustic vase is a versatile piece that adds a touch of industrial charm to various interiors. I love its muted, textured finish which works well in both modern and farmhouse settings, providing a subtle statement without overpowering the space. For styling, I recommend keeping it simple-pair it with dried grasses or minimalist florals for an understated look, or let it stand alone as a sculptural accent. It’s particularly effective as a focal point on a console table or as part of a layered shelf display, and its neutral tone makes it easy to incorporate into colour schemes from monochrome to more vibrant schemes. Practical tip: use it with a narrow opening for single-stem blooms or dried arrangements to maintain its sleek silhouette.

About Barker and Stonehouse
A Remarkable Journey
Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.
Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.
Sustainability at the Forefront
From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.
Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.
Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons
Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.
They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
