Designed in their own studio in Stockholm, Nordic Knots’ handwoven rugs are high quality and timeless. They’ve got a minimal aesthetic, in muted tones and geometric patterns – just like the rugs found at the centre of Scandinavian homes. The Connection Rug was designed in collaboration with Danish artist Carsten Beck Nielsen. There's three artistic patterns in this collection to choose from – a new way to introduce art into your home. And each one's hand-knotted in 100% New Zealand wool, giving it a shaggy and luxe pile.
I love this floor piece for its bold, modern aesthetic and versatile colour palette. The black backdrop with minimalist white line detailing makes it a statement, yet it’s subtle enough to complement a wide range of colour schemes. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, but can also add a sophisticated edge to more eclectic spaces. Practical styling tips include layering it over lighter flooring to create contrast, or pairing it with monochrome or neutral furnishings to let the rug be the focal point. Keep furniture simple and sleek to maintain the rug’s modern vibe, and consider adding a few textured accessories to bring warmth and depth to the overall look.
