Description

Design. An attractive piece with plenty of character. Brass inlays are a lovely detail which add to the mid-century style of the Bibi Console Table, Splayed legs provide a supportive finish to this practical piece and coordinate perfectly with the geometric design to the front. Each drawer is fitted onto runners for easy opening and closing and is fitted with a square brass handle to the centre.

Our Stylist Says

This side table is a stylish choice for adding warmth and character to both contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors. I love how the rich brown wood brings a sense of natural texture, making it adaptable for spaces like living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways. Its compact size makes it practical for displaying decorative items, such as vases or books, without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider pairing it with mixed metals or adding a small lamp to enhance its visual appeal. It works particularly well in eclectic or mid-century schemes, where its geometric details and natural wood finish can serve as a subtle focal point. Keep accessories minimal for a clean look, or layer with colourful ceramics or plants for a more curated feel.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
