Description
Designed by Robert Dudley Best and crafted by GUBI, this space-saving and versatile Bestlite BL2 Table Lamp is influenced by the Bauhaus philosophy. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, an establishment which championed a rebellion against tradition and sought to bring simplicity to the forefront, British designer Robert Dudley Best first sketched the Bestlite design in England during 1930. Featuring clean lines and an elegant expression, the design was favoured by Winston Churchill and has since become a contemporary classic. Robert Dudley Best is now recognised as one of the great British designers of the 20th century, while the Bestlite remains an elegant testimony to his work. First produced by the manufacturing firm Best & Lloyd, founded by Best's family in 1840, Danish design firm GUBI took over the production of this iconic light and continues to manufacture it to exacting standards to this day. Requires: 1 x Max 40W E14 bulb (not included).
