A pretty partner to our Bern sofa, the Bern armchair offers classic English lines updated with a smart buttoned back. Hand tufted by craftsmen here in the UK, the delightfully plump design features low recessed rolled arms and deep squishy seats. Smart hand turned wooden legs complete the look. The Bern range includes two seater and three seater sofas, an armchair and an ottoman. Our Bern collection can be upholstered in a choice of 33 distinctive shades and five fabrics to suit your style.

I’m a big fan of this green velvet chair for the way its rich, deep hue and gentle curves lift both classic and contemporary schemes. It works particularly well against warm neutrals or alongside natural woods, adding just the right pop of colour without dominating the room. For a cosy reading corner, team it with a slim brass-legged side table and a muted patterned cushion; in a larger living space it’ll sit beautifully next to a wooden console or low-profile media unit. To keep it looking sharp, brush it down regularly with a soft upholstery brush, rotate any loose cushions, and avoid placing it in direct sunlight.
