Arne Jacobsen designed the Bellevue lamp early in his career, the year of the Great Depression of 1929, when everyone felt the need for a new environment and a new lifestyle. Hi designed if for the Future House, a house he made in partnership with his friend Flemming Lassen for an exhibition in Copenhagen. The house have been kept like the Barcelona Pavilion by Mies Van Der Rohe and the Weissenhof Siedlung Van Der Rohe and Le Corbusier. Il was a circular construction, cut by straight lines and sharp angles. The lamp Bellevue is an echoes of this duality, with its curves and taut lines.
I love the Bellevue Table lamp for its timeless, minimalist design that blends functionality with elegance. Its sleek gold finish makes it a versatile piece that works especially well in modern, mid-century, or eclectic interiors. It’s perfect on a desk, bedside table, or as an accent in a lounge to add a touch of sophistication. Practical styling tips include pairing it with textured finishes or soft textiles to soften its metallic sheen, and positioning it where the adjustable neck can provide direct task lighting without overwhelming the space. Its understated yet luxurious look makes it a reliable element that elevates both contemporary and classic schemes.
