Description
A wonderful aesthetic and nostalgic journey. Bel Paese is the new and unusual story created by French designer Sam Baron. These china pieces are decorated with beautiful vintage illustrations inspired by old "citrus papers". These small squares of silk paper decorated with a central motif were used to pack oranges in the last century. As part of the popular cultural heritage of the 20th century, citrus papers have become a rare commodity found only on the stalls of luxury grocers and collectors! The deliciously retro imagery is totally updated with flashy colours, modern patterns and offbeat details. Simple and showy, the patterns respond to a popular, naive inspiration, made up of poetry and ingenuous symbolism, traits that are reminiscent of children's drawings. Honest, warm tones, blue and red are the natural preference. A retro pop imagery, tinged with humour, poetry and mystery.
