The Gamfratesi studio was created by Danish designer Stine Gam and Italian designer Enrico Fratesi. Their work combines different influences, from classic Italian Design to Scandinavian traditions. The Beetle chair is inspired by the shape of the scarab. The seat and back are made from two padded shells with curved lines like the insect's shell. The elegant fine and tapered legs in brass plated steel look like a beetle's legs. All these elements are perfectly connected and crafted in a fluid manner. Super comfortable, the Beetle will be a home in different environments: around a dinner table, behind a desk, at home or in the workplace.
I love this chair for its sleek, modern silhouette combined with luxurious detailing. The brass legs add a touch of warmth and elegance, making it versatile enough to work in both contemporary and more eclectic dining rooms. It's particularly well-suited for minimalist interiors where it can serve as a statement piece, but it also pairs beautifully with textured fabrics and layered materials. Practical styling tips include mixing these with upholstered chairs for contrast or adding a pop of colour with vibrant cushions on the seat. Its understated design allows it to adapt seamlessly across spaces, from formal dining settings to more relaxed, stylish kitchens.
