Description
The creation of young design duo Enrico Fratesi and Stine Gam, the Beetle Bar Stool is inspired by the shape, shell and structure of the insect. Gam Fratesi found the anatomy of the beetle very interesting; the structure is made up of different plates separated by thin sutures, and it is this external shell that supports and protects the animal’s body. All these elements are perfectly linked and work in a fascinating way. The design of this counter chair reinterprets the characteristic elements of the beetle's body: rigid on the outside and soft within, while maintaining comfort and functionality, and is updated from the chair design to a new stool height which makes it perfect for breakfast bars. The seat and back are created using a laminated moulded veneer, upholstered in a luxurious rich velvet, while the non-stackable base with conical legs is crafted from steel with a black finish.
