Description

A colourful artwork, 'Bowl of Tomatoes' by Becky Mann, inspired by a still life image of food. Made in the UK, this glazed print is presented in a window mount with a contemporary frame, ready to hang on your wall. Becky created her 'Bowl of Tomatoes' artwork as a creative response to the week 74 'Still Here Still Life' drawing prompt, based on a still life photograph by Jenna Holmes. Becky is an avid fan and contributor to 'Still Here Still Life', the viral drawing challenge created by Tess Smith-Roberts and Zena Kay with the aim of keeping people creative during the events of 2020. Becky Mann is an English illustrator based in Leeds. She uses a wide mixture of different influences in her work including British culture, favourite animals and food, along with her love of music and film. She often uses bright colours and found images to interpret her ideas. Having previously studied fine art printmaking at Brighton University, Becky combines the traditional principles and techniques of printmaking with contemporary digital processes. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its bold, contemporary vibe and vibrant colour palette, making it a great focal point in a kitchen, dining area, or even a bright hallway. Its size and striking blue framing help it stand out without overwhelming the space. This print works particularly well in modern or eclectic interiors that embrace colour and playful design. For styling tips, try pairing it with natural materials like wood or woven textures to ground the look, or group it with other art pieces for an art wall. To keep the focus on the artwork, keep surrounding accessories minimal and opt for simple, clean-lined furnishings. It’s a versatile piece that can add vibrancy to everyday spaces while also serving as a conversation starter.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
