Description
A French creator who graduated from the Italian school of design, Philippe Nigro has made his mark with his personal style, playing with oblique lines and an aim to innovate. For Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, he created Beaulieu, a chair and armchair characterised by curves assembled like a building set. The curved lines meet to create a backrest and armrests, enabling the creation of two seating types with just a few changes: a chair with a comfortable and sinuous backrest and an embracing armchair, where the harmonious meeting point of the back legs and the backrest forms two armrests. The seat comes in plywood or a padded version covered with a luxurious ribbed Phlox fabric by Kvadrat. This wide-ribbed fabric and a textured finish has a more graphic aspect than traditional velvet. Rich materials, high standards of quality, exceptional finishes and an original form, all wonderfully characteristic of the Wiener GTV Design spirit. Drawing on the tradition and way of thinking of Michael Thonet, Wiener GTV Design develops products rooted in an innovative, meticulous design process. A team of designers, creators and artisans produces unique products of exceptional craftsmanship. Product sustainability is at the centre of the development process.
