Description

Beat has become a hallmark of contemporary interiors. These sculptural pendants pair a modern aesthetic with the functional silhouettes of traditional Indian water vessels, celebrating the ancient techniques of regional metalworkers. Beat is engineered for the future: each piece features an integrated LED ring that significantly reduces energy consumption and offers a lifespan of up to 15 years.

Our Stylist Says

I love this dim pendant for its sleek, contemporary silhouette and updated take on classic lighting. Its bold black exterior paired with a warm gold interior makes it versatile enough to suit modern minimal interiors or eclectic spaces with a statement edge. It works particularly well over kitchen islands or dining tables, where its focused downward light can be utilised effectively. For practical styling, consider grouping a few at different heights for visual interest or pairing it with matte black or gold accents throughout the room to create a cohesive look. Its modern design can elevate both residential and commercial interiors, adding a touch of sophistication without feeling fussy.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
