Description

The Barley Spotlight bar makes an incredibly modern addition to your home, looking especially stylish in kitchens. This spotlight bar is finished in matte black, perfect for matching a dark themed room or creating a striking contrast against a white ceiling. Featuring 4 adjustable spotlight heads, this light fitting allows for a focused beam of light that is able to be pointed in any direction, especially useful for lighting worktops and counters. This minimal addition is sure to be the perfect lighting solution for any of your daily tasks that need better visibility.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this matte-black spotlight bar for its clean, unobtrusive profile and easy adjustability. It works brilliantly in contemporary or industrial settings - think open-plan kitchens, home offices and gallery-style living rooms - where you need focused task lighting or want to pick out art and architectural features without bulky pendants. Styling tips: mount it centrally over a kitchen island or corridor and angle each head to zones you use most, whether that’s a prep area, reading nook or shelving display. Pair with warm-white LED bulbs to soften the matt finish, and balance the black frame with natural timber or brass accents elsewhere in the room.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
