Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby's eponymous sofa considers the seating design as an architectural object. Inspired by Florence Knoll's iconic sofa, the Barber and Osgerby offering connects simple 'architectural building blocks' that make up the arms, seat and back, upholstered in Cato fabric. The designers explain, "Architecturally, we wanted to refer to the famous Florence Knoll sofa. So, we created this delineated envelope, which is also supremely comfortable. "With legs crafted from die-cast aluminium with a chrome finish, the sofa itself features a hardwood inner frame with a high density foam construction throughout and gel-infused, high density memory foam enhancing the seating surface, all upholstered in Cato fabric in an assortment of hues. Inspired by a hand-woven aesthetic, the Cato fabric was introduced in 1961 and is crafted from a wool-mix composition, with an exaggerated texture that makes it the ultimate accent. This Barber and Osgerby 2-seater sofa is available in brown, fire red, green, grey, ivory, natural and sand hues, making it a truly versatile addition to your space and a timeless design sure to endure though the years.
