Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby's eponymous armchair considers the chair as an architectural object. Inspired by Florence Knoll's iconic sofa, the Barber and Osgerby offering connects simple 'architectural building blocks' that make up the arms, seat and back, upholstered in a choice of Kvadrat's Fiord and Divina fabrics. The designers explain, "Architecturally, we wanted to refer to the famous Florence Knoll sofa. So, we created this delineated envelope, which is also supremely comfortable. "With legs crafted from die-cast aluminium with a chrome finish, the armchair itself features a hardwood inner frame with a high density foam construction throughout and gel-infused, high density memory foam enhancing the seating surface, all upholstered in Danish textile specialist Kvadrat's Fiord or Divina fabric in an assortment of hues. With a subtly three-dimensional look and solid pattern, Kvadrat's Fiord fabric is composed of 92% new wool with 8% nylon, while the Divina fabric was first launched in 1984 is crafted from 100% new wool. This Barber and Osgerby armchair is available in green, lilac grey, slate, indigo and blue grey hues, making it a truly versatile addition to your space and a timeless design sure to endure though the years.
