Description
With strange and organic 3D shapes, the Balloon vase sits half-way between art and design. The curving, simple and fluid lines are inspired by nature, evoking seeds, pods and tubercles. The rounded and grooved forms are highlighted by the matte non-enamelled finish which accentuates the details. Ceramicist, designer and internationally renowned interior designer, Jonathan Adler first became passionate about terracotta and exhibited his first pottery collection at Barneys in New York in 1993. "Earth is the basis of my work and always will be", affirms Jonathan Adler. For each ceramic piece from the collection, a prototype is made by hand in Jonathan Adler's workshop located in the achingly hip So Ho neighbourhood of New York.
