Michel Buffet was born in Paris in 1931, after double training as an engineer and interior architect (1950-1955) he spent the beginning of his career path designing luminaires. In 1952 he then joined the Knoll International bureau of study and CEI (Compagnie d'Esthétique Industrielle) founded by Raymond Loewy in 1952. Meeting with Raymond Loewy became a 30 year association. He participated in numerous projects, shipyards and achievements in the field of transport, environment and industrial products. Michel Buffet continues a research and development activity, particularly in the field of rail transport, aviation, and maritime. The simple and sleek forms, designed primarily as light sources could for him, only be white. The new edition is hand crafted in France, numbered and comes with a Certificat of Authenticity.
This floor lamp is a sleek and minimalist choice that works exceptionally well in contemporary and Scandinavian interiors. Its clean white finish and refined silhouette make it versatile enough to compliment both subtle neutral tones and bold colour schemes. I love how it adds a modern touch without overpowering a space - it’s perfect for living rooms, offices, or reading nooks. Practical styling tips include placing it beside a cosy armchair or sofa to create a functional reading corner, or using it to highlight architectural details in an understated way. Its slim profile makes it ideal for smaller spaces, while the neutral hue allows it to blend seamlessly into diverse environments.
