I’m a fan of this oak lift-up coffee table for its clean lines and handy hidden storage - the top lifts to reveal space for remotes, throws or keepsakes, which helps keep a living area tidy without bulky cabinets. The pale oak finish and slim metal legs suit Scandi, modern farmhouse or minimalist interiors, pairing nicely with soft neutrals or muted jewel tones.
When styling, keep the surface uncluttered: a low tray with a couple of design books, a small ceramic vase and a scented candle looks crisp without feeling sparse. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
