Description

The Ayla’s name was chosen for the many natural and shining influences of the pendant light, with its Hebrew meaning translating to ‘oak tree’, and its Turkish translation being ‘a circle of light around the sun or moon’. Its playfully large round shape is cut and welded from a sheet of iron by skilled artisans, then finished with a charming scalloped edge that softens its metallic form and its contemporary black and gold tones. To achieve the colouring, the metal is sanded for a smooth surface, then rustic colour is applied to the inside and outside before being varnished and foiled. The wooden finials at its top appear like jewellery beads, finished in gold for extra glamour. Due to the artisanal processes that craft this lamp, each piece has individual characteristics.

Our Stylist Says

The Ayla Pendant is a great choice for adding a touch of industrial chic with a warm metallic twist. I love how its contrast of soot black and gold makes it versatile for various interiors, from modern urban kitchens to vintage-inspired living spaces. It works particularly well in open-plan areas or above dining tables, where it can bring focused task lighting while serving as a statement piece. Practical styling tips include keeping the chain slightly adjustable to hang at the right height, and pairing it with warm filament bulbs for a cosy glow. It pairs nicely with both contemporary and rustic décors, making it a flexible addition to most schemes.
