I’m a fan of the Axis extendable table because its Vulcano Ceniza ceramic top is both hard-wearing and easy to clean, while the simple grey steel legs keep the look light. The extension mechanism is smooth, so you can go from everyday dining at 160 cm to entertaining at 220 cm without fuss.
It suits modern, industrial-leaning or Scandi-inspired spaces and pairs nicely with upholstered or metal-frame chairs. For styling, keep the tabletop uncluttered: a slim runner, a low vase of foliage and a pair of candleholders are all you need. If you’d like to add warmth, layer a sisal or low-pile wool rug underneath and introduce textiles in muted tones.
