Description

A mid-century style occasional chair, handcrafted from oak wood and upholstered in a rich raspberry velvet. Featuring sleek arms, cross-style legs and rivet detailing on the back, the Axel will make a luxurious addition to your interior. Exclusive to G&G.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this armchair for its bold raspberry velvet fabric, which instantly adds a touch of colour and luxury to any space. It works particularly well in mid-century modern or eclectic interiors, where statement pieces are key. To style it effectively, consider pairing with neutral tones or contrasting textures like a soft throw in grey or beige, to balance the richness of the velvet. Practical tips include placing it in a corner with a small side table or next to a reading lamp for a cosy nook. Its vintage-inspired wooden frame also adds warmth and character, making it versatile enough to blend into both contemporary and retro settings.

About Graham & Green

Founded in 1974, Graham & Green are a family business that started in Notting Hill, and have many pieces that bring touch of individuality and character to any space.

The Inception of a Lifestyle Brand

In 1974, Antonia started Graham & Green after a trip to India. She wanted to be independent and worked with traders from different countries. This led her to create the UK's first 'lifestyle' brand, bringing unique home items from places like India, Morocco, and Europe.

The first Graham & Green store opened in Notting Hill in 1974, showcasing Antonia's special collection of items from around the world. You can still visit this original store on Elgin Crescent today.

Evolution through Generations

Graham & Green has a rich history full of important moments. In 1980, they started creating hand-drawn mail-order catalogues to share their store's charm with more people.

They opened a new store in Primrose Hill in 1994, reflecting the brand's playful and free nature.

Antonia's son, Jamie, took a creative lead in 1998. Having studied at Kingston University, he began designing unique furniture collections, shifting Graham & Green from not only importing items but also creating them.

Then, in 1999, Graham & Green launched their first website, allowing people all across the UK to shop their collections online.

Milestones and Memories

Over time, Graham & Green has marked its journey with special products, like unique Birthday items with lovebird designs. After Antonia led the brand for 37 years, Jamie and Lou took over, pushing Graham & Green to grow even more.

They opened big stores in Bayswater and Bath in 2016. By 2018, Graham & Green updated their website to keep it modern and stylish for their customers.
