Description
The Austin Plush Velvet End Opening Ottoman Divan Storage Bed Base with 54" Floor Standing Upholstered Headboard combines timeless style with lasting support. Mattress not included. Featuring a solid, non-slip platform base. A solid top base provides a firm, stable surface for your mattress, eliminating the bouncy feel and poor edge support often experienced with slatted bases, allowing your mattress to benefit you to its full potential. The matching headboard is crafted with soft, cushioned vertical panels, with hand finished upholstery for stunning appeal as well as comfort when sitting up in bed. Base Height 34.5cm or 37.5cm with gliders attached (base can be used with or without gliders). Internal storage dimensions vary by bed size, typically 4-6cm smaller in length and width than the total bed size. All ottoman beds provide 24cm of discreet under bed storage, easily accessed with smooth, gas-assisted end-lift pistons (600N/800 N depending on size). Perfect for modern spaces, this Ottoman bed is expertly made by our skilled craftsmen in the UK and meets all UK safety and quality standards. 2FT. 6 and 3FT ottomans arrive as one base piece, and have one storage compartment, 4FT and above arrive as 2 pieces and thus have two separate storage spaces. Total headboard height from the floor is 54" / 137cm, the front panel of the headboard is 34" / 86cm. 2FT. 6 Ottoman Bed, L 190cm x W 79cm
Our Stylist Says
I really like this black velvet ottoman bed for its practicality and sleek design. The plush velvet adds a touch of luxury, making it suitable for contemporary or modern interiors, especially in spaces where a subtle statement piece is desired. Its small single size makes it ideal for guest rooms, kids’ bedrooms, or compact spaces where storage is essential but space is limited. Styling-wise, I recommend keeping the room light and airy with minimal accessories to let the richness of the velvet stand out. Adding neutral bedding and a couple of textured cushions can elevate the look while keeping it functional. The floor-standing headboard creates a balanced silhouette, and the lift-up storage offers excellent space-saving benefits-perfect for decluttering without sacrificing style.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
