The Austin Plush Velvet End Opening Ottoman Divan Storage Bed Base with 54" Floor Standing Upholstered Headboard combines timeless style with lasting support. Mattress not included. Featuring a solid, non-slip platform base. A solid top base provides a firm, stable surface for your mattress, eliminating the bouncy feel and poor edge support often experienced with slatted bases, allowing your mattress to benefit you to its full potential. The matching headboard is crafted with soft, cushioned vertical panels, with hand finished upholstery for stunning appeal as well as comfort when sitting up in bed. Base Height 34.5cm or 37.5cm with gliders attached (base can be used with or without gliders). Internal storage dimensions vary by bed size, typically 4-6cm smaller in length and width than the total bed size. All ottoman beds provide 24cm of discreet under bed storage, easily accessed with smooth, gas-assisted end-lift pistons (600N/800 N depending on size). Perfect for modern spaces, this Ottoman bed is expertly made by our skilled craftsmen in the UK and meets all UK safety and quality standards. 2FT. 6 and 3FT ottomans arrive as one base piece, and have one storage compartment, 4FT and above arrive as 2 pieces and thus have two separate storage spaces. Total headboard height from the floor is 54" / 137cm, the front panel of the headboard is 34" / 86cm. 4FT. 6 Ottoman Bed, L 193cm x W 137cm
Our Stylist Says
The black velvet ottoman bed end adds a sleek, modern touch to a bedroom setup, making it highly versatile for various interiors-from contemporary to luxe or even minimalist spaces. I love its practical storage capacity, perfect for keeping bedding, pillows, or seasonal items out of sight, while the floor-standing headboard provides a clean, polished look. Styling-wise, pairing it with crisp white linens, metallic accents, or textured throws can enhance its sophisticated vibe. For colour coordination, it works well with neutral tones, deep jewel colours, or monochromes, allowing it to be both a statement piece and a functional addition to your bedroom scheme.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
