I’m a fan of this deep-plum velvet Chesterfield bed for the way its winged, button-tufted headboard adds a sculptural focal point without feeling over-the-top. It works equally well in an Art Deco-inspired scheme (think brass accents and jewel-toned cushions) or a more pared-back, Scandi-glam look if you team it with pale linens and simple, matt-black lamps. Practical styling tip: layer up cushions in varying textures - perhaps a chunky knit throw at the end of the bed and a couple of velvet or silk cushions in complementary shades. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
