Description

Delivering comfort and contemporary cool straight to your living room, the Atticus Right Hand Facing chaise sofa is as stylish as it is supportive. Perfect for corner set-ups, a convenient L-shaped design maximises floorspace, allowing you to stretch out your legs or provide extra seating for guests. Chunky and charming, the sofa’s grand form oozes fun, retro influence, with delicate buttonless tufting enhancing its plump interior. Highly resilient foam filling ensures lavish luxury as you lay upon it, whilst a high back and arms keep you feeling cosy. Dressed in your choice of sumptuous fabric to complement your existing look, the Atticus is sure to become a firm favourite.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sofa for its versatile silhouette and plush upholstery, making it a real statement piece in both contemporary and retro interiors. Its right-hand facing design is perfect for creating cosy corner configurations or defining a seating zone within open-plan spaces. To style it effectively, consider pairing with textured cushions in contrasting or tonal shades to add visual interest, and keep surrounding decor minimal to let the sofa take centre stage. It works particularly well with velvet or soft fabrics in jewel tones, but can also be styled with neutral tones for a more understated look. Practical tip: position it near a window or in a seating nook with good lighting to highlight its sumptuous fabric and inviting form.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
