The Atmosfera collection represents the attention to detail and understated elegance that characterise GUBI. The tops are made from superior-quality solid teak slats, surrounded by an elegant frame. The table legs are formed from two vertical slats, joined together using a mitre joint that creates an inverted “L” shape at each corner. Referencing architectural and maritime design, the unusual leg construction provides both optimal structural support and visual interest, lending the piece a certain airiness. Each leg protrudes slightly above the surface of the table, resulting in a rounded design that contrasts with the geometric lines of the structure. Comprising two dining tables (for 6 and 8 people) and a coffee table, the Atmosfera collection has been designed to bring a unique ambiance when you get together outside to eat and relax in the open air. The Atmosfera collection only uses plantation teak with SVLK certification, which ensures biodiversity, sustainable forestry practices and provides economic benefits to the local economy. The SVLK standard is the Indonesian timber legality certification programme: this system guarantees the legality of the timber of products exported from Indonesia and their traceability from their point of origin. The tables are flat-packed for efficient transport and are made only from wood, which avoids additional processes and materials, such as metal or powder coating. Teak is rich in natural oils, which makes it inherently resistant to weathering and natural wear and therefore particularly suitable for outdoor furniture. GUBI teak is polished, bringing the natural oils already contained in the wood to the surface, and burnished to produce a rich shine and uniform colour. Atmosfera tables can be left outside, uncovered and untreated, all year round. They will fade slightly over time, adopting a beautiful silver-grey patina. For those who want to preserve the honey-gold tones of the wood, an annual application of oil is a simple solution.
