Description

Looking for a timeless and traditional piece to perfectly accent your living area? The Asquith 3-seater Sofa is the perfect choice. Its 19th Century Chesterfield appearance with buttoned back and stubbed detailing creates a luxurious and classic presence. Tailored in a choice of aged effect leathers, the Asquith 3-seather sofa with wooden bun feet and brass castors makes a picture-perfect traditional classic. The exclusive leather gives the sofa unique characteristics which include marks, wrinkles and colour variations that give it a distinctive feel.

Our Stylist Says

I love the asquith 3 seater in black leather for its timeless Chesterfield silhouette, which adds a touch of classic sophistication to any interior. Because of its versatile *look*, it works well in both contemporary and traditional settings, particularly in rooms with a muted or neutral colour palette where it can act as a striking focal point. Practical styling tips include pairing it with textured cushions or throws to soften the leather’s sleekness, or anchoring it with a patterned rug for a cosy yet polished vibe. The rich black leather is durable and easy to maintain, making it suitable for busy family living or entertaining spaces. Overall, it’s a statement piece that combines style with functionality, perfect for adding a touch of heritage charm to modern decor.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
