Perfect for families, the sofa is available in a variety of fabrics, from everyday to luxe, to suit the way you live, and a wide choice of colours. Getting a sofa into your home can sometimes be a bit of a squeeze, so remember to measure your space in advance, including door frames and tight bends. Our Askem sofas come packaged in plastic and cardboard to keep them protected during delivery, so remember to note down the ‘packaged dimensions’ when measuring your space. For more help and advice, read our Sofa Measuring Guide to ensure your sofa fits into your home on delivery day. The Italian-made sofa is exclusive to Habitat and a 3 seater Askem sofa is also available.
Our Stylist Says
The Askem teal sofa is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and traditional interiors, adding a splash of colour without overwhelming the space. I love its compact size, making it ideal for smaller living rooms or as an accent in larger spaces. Pair it with neutral tones like greys or creams to make the teal pop, or go for a more vibrant look with patterned cushions and accessories. A practical styling tip is to layer textures - think soft throws and varied cushions - to create an inviting feel. Its colour and shape make it a flexible addition that can anchor a room or serve as a lively statement piece.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
