Perfect for families, the sofa is available in a variety of fabrics, from everyday to luxe, to suit the way you live, and a wide choice of colours. Getting a sofa into your home can sometimes be a bit of a squeeze, so remember to measure your space in advance, including door frames and tight bends. Our Askem sofas come packaged in plastic and cardboard to keep them protected during delivery, so remember to note down the ‘packaged dimensions’ when measuring your space. For more help and advice, read our Sofa Measuring Guide to ensure your sofa fits into your home on delivery day. The Italian-made sofa is exclusive to Habitat and a compact Askem sofa is also available.
Our Stylist Says
I love the pink velvet sofa because it adds a lively yet sophisticated pop of colour to any space. Its plush velvet texture creates a luxe, inviting feel, making it perfect for both modern and eclectic interiors. This sofa works well in neutral schemes where it can be the statement piece, or in playful, colourful rooms to complement other vibrant accents. For styling, consider pairing with soft, muted cushions and minimalist accessories to let the colour and texture shine. Practical tip: since velvet can be prone to marks, keep it away from direct sunlight and regular vacuuming will help maintain its plush appearance.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
