Description

This characterful coffee table is expertly crafted from reclaimed wood, bringing together sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless rustic style. Each piece of wood has been carefully selected and finished to preserve its natural markings, knots, and grain variations, giving the table a warm, lived-in appearance that adds depth and personality to any living space. The rustic finish enhances the natural beauty of the reclaimed wood while offering a durable, practical surface ideal for everyday use. The solid tabletop provides both strength and charm. Beneath the tabletop, a practical lower shelf offers additional storage space.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this coffee table for its simple, versatile design and neutral wooded tone. It works particularly well in contemporary or Scandi-inspired interiors, where its natural finish adds warmth and texture without overpowering the space. It’s practical too-its sturdy construction and lower shelf are perfect for stacking books or baskets, making it both stylish and functional. When styling, I recommend keeping accessories minimal and natural-think ceramics, candles, or a small tray-to maintain a clean, relaxed look. This table is great for both laid-back living rooms and more polished settings, easily becoming a focal point in a neutral or earthy colour palette.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
