I particularly like how this slim grey console with its oak-effect top brings both storage and style to narrow hallways or behind a sofa. The three drawers are perfect for stashing keys, post and small bits, while the open lower shelf can hold woven baskets to keep shoes or magazines organised. It works equally well in Scandi, modern farmhouse or coastal schemes - simply hang a round mirror above, place a neat lamp at one end and a low vase of foliage at the other. Keep accessories minimal to let the wood-effect top stand out, and introduce texture (ceramic, rattan or linen) for visual interest.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
