Description

Grace your dining space with the timeless elegance of the Arene Curved Marble 220cm Dining Table with Curved Oak Wood Legs, Seats 4-6. Its expansive marble top exudes sophistication, showcasing natural veining that tells a story of beauty and strength. Supported by gracefully curved oak wood legs, the table combines organic warmth with sleek modernity, creating a stunning focal point. The interplay of marble's cool elegance and oak's gentle curves reflects harmony and refinement, making this table a masterpiece of both form and function for contemporary living

Our Stylist Says

I’d refer to this simply as the Arene table. Its generous size and rich brown marble top make it a striking centrepiece in spacious dining areas, especially within contemporary, minimalist or softly industrial schemes. The ribbed timber legs add a subtle tactile contrast that works well against matte metals or velvet-upholstered chairs. Styling tip: keep accessories pared back - a low ceramic vase or sculptural bowl at the centre lets the marble shine, while a mix of mid-tone wood or leather chairs will balance the table’s warmth. Understated pendant lighting hung directly above will complete the look without overpowering it.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
