Description

Table lamps are a necessity in the home, bringing a certain style to a space and enhancing the overall look of a room. The Archie table lamp features a ‘touch sensitive’ attribute which allows you to trigger a stunning luminosity to be expressed from the piece with just the touch of a finger. The touch lamp comes finished in an understated satin nickel colour, adding a modern touch to the classic design of the lamp. An alabaster glass shade brings an air of traditionalism and elegance to create an opulent fitting in almost any interior, perfect as a bedside table lamp in particular.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simplicity and elegance of the Archie table lamp. Its satin nickel finish and alabaster shade create a versatile look that pairs beautifully with both contemporary and classic interiors. The touch control feature adds a touch of modern convenience, making it practical for everyday use. This lamp works well in living rooms or bedside tables, especially where you want a sophisticated yet understated statement piece. To style it effectively, opt for minimal accessories around it, allowing the lamp to stand out without overwhelming the space. It's an ideal choice for creating a cosy ambiance while maintaining a clean, stylish aesthetic.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
