Description

Touch sensitive lamps are great for the home due to their practicality and ease of use. The Archie touch lamp comes in a traditional satin brass finish, complimenting the overall classic style of the piece which is enhanced due to its elegant alabaster glass shade. This table lamp can be switched on and off simply by tapping the base of the piece; a perfect practical feature. It is ideal for many rooms of the house due to its functionality and understated appearance but is great as a bedside table lamp in particular, enhancing the style and feel of the room by illuminating the space in opulent light.

Our Stylist Says

I love how the Archie Touch Lamp combines satin brass with alabaster, giving it a sophisticated yet versatile look. It works particularly well in contemporary or classic interiors that benefit from subtle metallic accents and natural textures. For styling, try pairing it with soft neutral palettes or placing it on a side table in a living room or bedroom to add warmth and elegance. Practical tips include using it as a bedside or desk lamp for a functional touch, while its touch feature makes it easy to adjust lighting without cluttering your space with switches. Its understated design allows it to blend seamlessly into various aesthetics, making it a stylish and practical addition.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
