Description

Any copper light fitting has the ability to add that contemporary style to your home which is seen so often in the current world of lighting. This Archie touch table lamp comes in an antique brushed copper finish, adding a modern feature to almost any interior, perfect as a bedside table lamp in particular. The copper finish compliments the traditional alabaster glass shade, creating a touch sensitive lamp which has the perfect balance of classic and modern features. The ‘touch sensitive feature’ allows you to switch the light on and off simply by tapping the base of the fitting, ideal for practical lighting in the home.

Our Stylist Says

The Archie Touch Lamp is a smart choice for adding a touch of refined sophistication to both traditional and contemporary spaces. I love its antique brushed copper finish, which adds warmth and vintage charm, paired with the alabaster shade that softens the light and creates a cosy ambiance. It works particularly well in bedrooms and living rooms where subtle illumination is key, or on bedside tables to provide functional elegance. For styling tips, consider pairing it with textured fabrics and muted colour palettes to emphasise its understated luxury, or contrasting it with modern dark woods and metals for an eclectic yet cohesive look. Its touch feature makes it highly practical, allowing for easy control without cluttering the space with switches.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
