Description
An iconic design has been supersized with this Original 1227 Giant Floor Lamp from Anglepoise. Beautifully crafted, functional and impressive, this illuminated sculpture is three times the size of the Original 1227™ design. Originally commissioned by the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre (in deference to the beloved Anglepoise lamp that Dahl used in his writing hut), inspiration for the Original 1227™ Giant is part Carwardine, part fantasy. It’ll instantly introduce an element of playful style into any space, this giant lamp still keeps the original charm and classic shape that is integral to the Original 1227™.
Our Stylist Says
This giant orange is a bold statement piece that works beautifully in both contemporary and eclectic interiors, especially when you want to add a splash of colour and personality to a space. I love how its striking citrus yellow makes it the focal point in a minimalist setting, or how it can contrast nicely against more neutral palettes for a lively touch. Practical styling tips include placing it in a cosy reading corner, a bright corner of a living room, or even as a statement piece in a home office. Its adjustable arm means it’s both functional and sculptural, offering great versatility when it comes to task lighting or simply making a visual impact. Keep the surrounding décor simple to let it stand out or pair with other vintage or industrial elements for a balanced look.
