I’m a fan of the Amura barstool for its clean lines and softly moulded leather seat set on a slim black metal base. Its dark grey hide is hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean, making it ideal for busy kitchen islands or breakfast bars in contemporary, industrial or Scandi-inspired spaces.
Styling tip: balance the stool’s angular frame with warmer materials - think a light oak countertop or a natural-fibre rug beneath - and group three or four at your island to keep the look cohesive. A small leather or wool seat pad can also boost comfort without masking the design.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
