High-tech lighting. The Ameluna pendant combines Artemide’s technological expertise in the field of light and the inimitable style of Mercedes-Benz. Its futuristic design is inspired by the under-sea world. The large transparent PMMA dome has a pure form and a sensual asymmetrical volume that creates a dynamic, emotionally charged tension. Viewed from below, the pendant seems to form a perfect circle. However, by changing the angle of view, the curved shape reveals irregular and organic lines. Absolute transparency lets the eye pass through: Ameluna becomes a dematerialised element, a space of pure light. Suspended by three ultrafine cables, the lamp seems to float in space. Featuring revolutionary technology, the minimalist silhouette incorporates a patented optoelectronic system. Ameluna doesn’t have a central light source. The LEDs are embedded in the very thin aluminium strip at the bottom of the dome. The LED light sources are extremely efficient while being tiny: they retain purity of form while providing optimal, direct and functional lighting. The light is also refracted through the transparent body thanks to an innovative optical solution. The light spreads over the entire surface of the dome which becomes shiny, producing a superb diffused ambient light, similar to that of underwater bioluminescent creatures. The lighting can be controlled by bluetooth using a smartphone app (free to download on Apple Store & Google play). By using the Artemide app, you can turn the light on and off, decrease the intensity of the lamp, create an infinity of light scenarios for your home.
