I’m a big fan of this upholstered panel bed - its clean lines and deep black velvet give a room instant structure without feeling heavy. The vertical channel headboard adds subtle texture and works brilliantly in contemporary, Scandi-inspired or even minimalist industrial schemes. For styling, layer soft grey or off-white linens with a textured throw at the foot to break up the dark base. A slim bedside table in light wood or metal will keep the look airy, and a simple wall-mounted sconce avoids clutter around the headboard. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.

A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
