I’m a fan of the Amelia upholstered bed in black because its slim, vertical channelled headboard brings instant texture without overwhelming the room. It’s a versatile piece that sits equally well in a pared-back, contemporary scheme or paired with industrial accents - think matte metal side tables and exposed-wood flooring. For practical styling, layer neutral linens with a bold throw at the foot, then add one or two statement cushions in a contrasting fabric (velvet or woven). Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
