Description

The name Amarya – meaning ‘unfading flower’ – was brought to mind by the bright and bold colours of this rug, along with its abstract floral motifs. The design is handwoven on an authentic and traditional Kilim loom, just like the designs that have inspired it, and features rich reds, pale blues and bright golds, framed by a concentric border and a neutral fringe. The origins of kilims range from Balkan regions through to Northern Africa, which is what makes them complementary to so many design styles. Kilims differ from knotted rugs as they are interwoven from variously coloured wefts (horizontal yarns) and warps (vertical yarns) to create a flatwoven tapestry rug with no pile. They often have stepped, diagonal patterns which are formed through their distinct weaving technique in which the yarn turns around the warp where the colour changes, rather than running across the full width of the piece.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this redstone rug for its bold colour andPattern; it’s a great statement piece, especially in more neutral interiors. It works well in both traditional and bohemian settings, adding warmth and a touch of colour without overwhelming the space. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with mid-tone or dark furniture to create contrast, and keep the surrounding décor relatively simple to let the pattern shine. Practical tips include placing it in living rooms or under a dining table to anchor the space, and complementing it with cushions or throws in coordinating reds or neutrals for a cohesive look. Its durability makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, offering both style and practicality.
