Coming from the am/as series, the AM1 N table lamp was designed in 1969 by the designers Franco and Marco Albini, Franca Helg and Antonia Piva. Architect, designer and set designer, the neo-rationalist, Franco Albini (1905-1977), is an endless source of timeless creations. His Luisa armchair earned him a Compasso d’Oro in 1955 and his fifties armchairs made from rattan are considered now as absolute icons. An elegant design based on a minimalist look for this AM1 N lamp which consists of a large opal glass globe set in a chrome-plated metal base. The dual layer opal blown glass emits a gentle atmospheric light with a remarkable quality. The timeless lines combine with the traditional Italian craftsmanship. The diffuser’s shape is an elliptic sphere with an opening towards the top to change its bulb easily. The high-quality materials and the meticulous craftsmanship make it a very sophisticated light.
This table lamp is a sleek, contemporary piece that works well in modern or minimalist interiors, thanks to its clean lines and subtle metallic accents. I love it for adding a touch of sophistication without overwhelming a space-it functions beautifully as a bedside lamp, on a side table, or even in a home office. For styling tips, pair it with neutral or monochrome palettes to highlight its design details, or contrast it with textured materials like wood or fabric to soften its polished look. Its compact size and elegant form make it versatile for various settings, and the white and silver finish ensures it stays timeless and easy to coordinate with other decor elements.
