Description

For a modern abstract addition perfect for a subtle floral theme, the Alvar Petals LED Flush Ceiling Light in silky satin black is both stylish and artistic, perfect for modern home designs. The abstract flower petal design is sure to be a beautiful addition to your living room. In this satin black finish, the light could fit in with any colour scheme. This piece is perfect to increase the atmosphere of a room while being a subtle addition to a floral theme.

Our Stylist Says

I love this ceiling light for its sleek, contemporary design that adds a modern edge to any space. The satin black finish ensures it works well within minimalist or industrial-inspired interiors, while the petal-like shape adds a subtle touch of softness and visual interest. It’s versatile for living rooms, kitchens, or bedrooms, especially in rooms with high ceilings, where its sculptural form can really shine. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral tones or monochrome palettes for a clean look, or using it as a statement piece in a more eclectic room with bold colours and textures. Its flush mount design is ideal for achieving a clutter-free, streamlined ceiling while still making a style statement.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
