Known as Muller Van Severen, the Flemish design duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen work at the intersection of art and design. They are among the most prominent creators of the moment. From galleries to museums, not to mention collectors, design enthusiasts and design houses, everyone loves their minimalist, colourful furniture, timeless and joyful. In less than a decade, Muller Van Severen has become a key player in design, to the point of winning numerous awards and increasing collaborations with prestigious museums (Pompidou Centre, Vitra museum, etc. ). Belgian creative house valerie_objects set famous Flemish designers the challenge of experimenting with wooden materials for the first time in their careers. Effectively, using wood as a material was practically unheard of in their field of design. Following the Wooden table collection, boasting oak tabletops, valerie_objects has the honour of presenting the second Muller Van Severen project with the most natural material in the world. This time, Fien and Hannes have revisited their classic Alu chair, replacing the colourful aluminium backrest and seat with a version made using multi-layer oak wood. The result is stunning: a furniture piece showcasing the playful DNA of Muller Van Severen, yet retaining a reserved and toned-down aspect. In other words: a visually well-balanced chair which smoothly fits into any living room, whether it's a classic space or a modern vibe. The Alu chair has been developed with seats and backrests made with natural oak, or even with aluminium in a rich, chromatic palette. This multiplicity of colours and materials gives the Alu chair a super fun look. The colours of the chair really determine the atmosphere of the space. You can create a highly playful environment, or a more reserved space. Exuberance or sobriety, you can choose to coordinate or not the colours of the backrest and seat, mixing the shades to create your own "landscape of colours".
