I’m a fan of this Richmond desk for its clean, angular lines and matte-black finish - it works equally well in a Scandi-inspired studio, a modern industrial office or a compact city flat. The slim drawer keeps paperwork out of sight, so styling stays crisp and uncluttered.
Pair it with a slim-profile task chair in leather or tweed, a desk lamp in brass or muted metal, and a small plant to soften the look. Keep accessories to a minimum - one framed print or pinboard above the desk plus a neat cable tray underneath will maintain its streamlined appeal.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
