I’m a fan of the Rhodes desk in walnut for its simple, sturdy build and mixed-material look - the warm timber top sits neatly on those slim black-steel legs. It slots straight into Scandi-inspired or industrial schemes, and works equally well in a home office or tucked into a bedroom corner. For styling, keep the desktop clear apart from a slim-profile lamp and one or two framed prints to emphasise the uncluttered feel. Use the lower shelf to display a small row of hardbacks or woven baskets for stationery, and add a trailing plant on one side to soften the metal detailing. Cables disappear neatly underneath, so you get a clean, organised workspace without extra fuss.
