The Alku pattern was designed by the young Finnish illustrator, Maija Louekari. The repeated geometric patterns represent seeds intended to grow and transform into beautiful, healthy flowers. This colourful pattern exudes joie de vivre, energy and warmth. Created in 1951, the Marimekko company is a state of mind, an art of living based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours, for a house full of inspiration! PLEASE NOTE:Cushion cover sold on its own: the filling is sold separately.
