Description

Bring some colours into your space with the Alder Scalloped Base Table Lamp, finished in orange. Table lamps are a great way to add further lighting to a room without overpowering it. Making perfect additions to bedside tables, desks, or cosy corners. The unique stone-inspired design makes this table lamp really stand out above the rest.

Our Stylist Says

This table lamp is a great way to add a pop of colour to neutral or minimalist interiors. The burnt orange hue gives it a warm, inviting feel and makes it suitable for contemporary, boho, or retro-inspired spaces. I love pairing it with textured furniture or natural materials like wood and rattan to create a layered, cosy look. Practically, it works well as a bedside or side table lamp, providing ambient lighting without overpowering the room. To style it effectively, consider keeping the surrounding décor simple and picking up on the orange in artwork or soft furnishings to create harmony within the space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
