Description

Featuring a rugged and robust design that won’t go unnoticed, the Alamo dining table showcases quality craftsmanship in every inch. Clean lines come courtesy of slim panel legs of industrial metal, offsetting the irregular live edge of the wooden table top. Rich, reclaimed oak gives each piece unique characteristics, which means that your Alamo dining table will truly be one of a kind. Pair with a rustic wooden bench, luxe velvet chairs or lashings of leather – the choice is yours.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its sleek combination of natural and industrial elements. The live edge adds a touch of organic charm, making it the focal point in both modern and rustic interiors. The tango metal legs provide a sturdy, contemporary contrast that works especially well in minimalist, urban, or loft-style spaces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with mixed materials like woven chairs or upholstered benches for visual interest. For a more laid-back look, consider layering with textured table runners or placing a statement centrepiece, but the table’s natural character means it can also stand confidently on its own. Its versatile aesthetic will complement a range of interior styles, from Scandinavian to industrial to contemporary.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
