Description

Pairing tribal-inspired design with vibrant hues, the Akila Wool Kilim Rug injects a timeless look into any space. In a warm touch wool-blend pile the low-profile composition allows this design to sit in most areas of the home, even the busier spaces. Hand-woven by skilled rug artisans and hand finished with tasselled edges. We love using the Akila Wool Kilim Rug to add a nomadic dimension to living spaces. This is a hand-made flatweave rug. When opening, re-roll your rug pile out and leave in a warm room for 24 hours before putting in place, this will help to reduce wrinkles and curling from packing. Do not pull any loose threads, please cut them carefully with scissors to remove. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as this may cause fading of the colour. Turn your rug regularly to ensure even wear and to reduce pressure marks from furniture. Wool fibres may shed when new and during use, this is a characteristic of this product and is not a defect and should reduce with normal use and regular vacuuming. Before using any cleaning products on your rug, test on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it does not affect the colour. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a clean dry white cloth - do not rub as this may stain the fibres. Vacuum your rug regularly to remove everyday dirt, we recommend the use of a suction type vacuum cleaner as a rotating vacuum brush can cause damage to the pile surface. We recommend the use of an anti-slip mat beneath your rug to prevent it from slipping and sliding out of place.

Our Stylist Says

I love this multi-coloured Akila wool kilim rug for its vibrant yet versatile aesthetic. It works particularly well in boho or eclectic interiors, adding a pop of colour and texture to neutral palettes. It's durable and soft, making it practical for living rooms or bedrooms where comfort and style matter. When styling, consider pairing it with understated furniture to let the rug be the focal point, or layer it beneath larger rugs for added depth. Its lively pattern can also help anchor a seating arrangement or define a specific zone within an open-plan space.

A Legacy of Home Comfort Dunelm's Journey

Dunelm isn't just another store; it's a British legacy. Kicked off in 1979 by the dynamic duo, Bill and Jeany Adderley, what began as a simple market stall in Leicester transformed into one of the UK's most prominent home furnishings retailers.

Fast forward a bit, and their first brick-and-mortar store sprang to life in Leicester in 1984. Dunelm didn't stop there, making waves throughout the decades, innovating and expanding, launching an online shopping experience, and securing its place on the London Stock Exchange.
